The Field Guidelines

Last updated: June 24, 2026

The field is a shared space. What goes into it shapes what everyone who visits experiences. These guidelines exist to keep it honest, thoughtful, and worth exploring.

What the field is for

The field is for thoughts you are genuinely sitting with. Questions you keep returning to. Decisions that feel heavier than they should. Ideas that are not fully formed yet. Things you are trying to gain clarity on and have not been able to resolve on your own.

It is not a search engine. It is not a place to get answers. It is a place to leave something real — something that reflects where you actually are, not where you think you should be.

The best submissions are honest, specific, and incomplete. “Should I quit?” is less interesting than “I’ve been building this for two years and I still don’t know if I believe in it.” Both belong. But the second one is what the field was made for.

What belongs here

A thought belongs in the field if it meets one simple test — is this something you are genuinely trying to gain clarity on?

It can be a question, a decision, a dilemma, a belief you are not sure about, a fear you cannot name precisely, or an unfinished idea that keeps coming back. It can be about work, life, relationships, money, identity, the world, or anything else that sits with you.

It does not have to be polished. It does not have to be articulate. It just has to be real.

What does not belong here

Some things do not belong in the field and will be removed without notice.

Promotional content of any kind

The field is not an advertising space. Do not submit anything whose primary purpose is to promote a product, service, person, or agenda.

Spam and repeated submissions

Each thought should be submitted once. Flooding the field with variations of the same submission is not in the spirit of this space.

Personal attacks and targeted content

Do not submit anything directed at a specific person in a way that is harmful, defamatory, or intended to damage their reputation. The field is for your thoughts, not about other people.

Private information

Do not submit confidential information belonging to yourself or others — information about ongoing legal matters, private financial details, sensitive personal situations involving third parties who have not consented to being part of this space, or anything that should not be made public.

Harmful content

Do not submit anything that promotes or encourages self-harm, abuse, illegal activity, discrimination, or violence of any kind.

Content without genuine intent

If you are not actually trying to gain clarity on something, it does not belong here. The field is not for testing, experimenting with the system, or filling space.

The tone of the field

Charcha is not a debate forum. It is not a place to argue, convince, or be right. The people who visit this field are not looking for your answers and you are not looking for theirs.

What you will find here are thoughts from people who are genuinely wondering about something. Treat that with the same honesty and care you would want for your own thoughts.

When you submit something to the field, you are contributing to a shared atmosphere. The quality of that atmosphere depends on everyone who participates in it.

What happens when guidelines are not followed

Thoughts that violate these guidelines will be removed from the field without notice and without explanation. In cases of repeated or serious violations, we may restrict access to the field entirely.

We do not debate removal decisions. If you believe a thought was removed in error, you can write to us at hello@dailycharcha.com and we will review it once.

Questions about these guidelines

If something is unclear or you are not sure whether a thought belongs in the field, write to us at hello@dailycharcha.com before submitting. We would rather answer a question than remove something unnecessarily.

These guidelines may be updated as Charcha evolves. The date at the top reflects the most recent version.
