Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 24, 2026

Charcha is available to people worldwide. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and what rights you have over it — wherever you are in the world.

We want to say three things plainly before anything else. We do not sell your data. We do not run advertising. We do not share your information with anyone except the service providers we need to operate Charcha, and they are contractually required to protect it.

1. Who we are

Charcha is a product of Maze Stuff Private Limited, registered in India. When this policy refers to “Charcha”, “we”, “us”, or “our”, we mean Maze Stuff Private Limited. You can contact us at hello@dailycharcha.com with any questions about this policy or your personal information.

2. Information we collect

When you join the waitlist, we collect your email address and the date and time of your signup. We generate and store your early access key against your email address.

When you submit a question to the public field, we store the text of your question, the time it was submitted, and the categories automatically assigned to it by our AI system.

We also collect basic technical information needed to keep the service secure and reliable, such as request metadata and rate-limit identifiers. This information is not linked to your identity and is not used to profile or track you. We do not use advertising trackers. We do not collect your name, phone number, location, or payment information.

3. How we use your information

We use your email address to confirm your waitlist signup, send you your early access key, and keep you informed about product updates, early access invitations, and launch information. You can unsubscribe from these communications at any time using the link in any email we send you.

We use the questions you submit to display them in the public question field, to organise and categorise the canvas experience, and to improve how Charcha works over time. We use technical information to maintain the security, stability, and reliability of the service.

4. How AI processes your questions

Charcha uses AI to automatically assign categories to questions you submit. The text of your question is processed to select relevant tags from a fixed list we maintain. This happens automatically when you submit a question.

We do not use your personal data to train external AI models. We do not sell your question data to AI companies or any other third parties.

5. Who has access to your information

We use trusted third-party service providers to operate Charcha — for database storage and infrastructure, email delivery, AI-assisted question categorisation, error monitoring, and hosting. These providers process your information only as needed to help us run Charcha. They are contractually required to protect it and may not use it for their own purposes.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to anyone for any reason. If Charcha or Maze Stuff Private Limited is ever acquired by or merged with another business, your information may transfer to the new owner. We will notify you before this happens and your rights under this policy will continue to be honoured.

6. How long we keep your information

We keep your email address and early access key until you ask us to remove it, or until Charcha closes, whichever comes first. Public questions may remain visible in the field unless you contact us to request removal, which we will review and action promptly. Technical and security logs are retained for a maximum of 30 days.

7. Legal basis for processing

If you are in the European Economic Area, we are required to explain the legal bases on which we process your personal data. We process your email address and send you communications on the basis of your consent, which you give when you join the waitlist. We operate the public question field and maintain security on the basis of legitimate interests, and we only rely on this where our interests are not overridden by your rights. We fulfil our commitments to you as a waitlist member on the basis of contract. You can withdraw your consent at any time by unsubscribing or contacting us directly.

8. International data transfers

Charcha is operated from India. Your data may be stored or processed in other countries where our service providers operate. For users in the European Economic Area, where we transfer your data outside the EEA, we rely on appropriate safeguards including Standard Contractual Clauses to protect it.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to know what personal information we hold about you, to ask us to correct inaccurate information, to ask us to delete your information, to withdraw your consent for email communications, to receive a copy of your data in a structured format, to object to how we process your data, and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

Users in the European Economic Area have full rights under the GDPR. Users in India have rights under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023. Users in California have rights under the CCPA and CPRA. Wherever you are, you are welcome to contact us and we will do our best to help.

To exercise any of these rights, email us at hello@dailycharcha.com. We will respond within 7 days.

10. Children

Charcha is not intended for anyone under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has submitted information to Charcha, please contact us at hello@dailycharcha.com and we will remove it promptly.

11. Security

We use industry-standard security practices to protect your information, including encrypted connections, access controls, and secure infrastructure. No system is perfectly secure, but we take the protection of your information seriously. If we become aware of a significant security breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you as required by applicable law.

12. Grievance officer

As required under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, you may raise privacy concerns or complaints with us directly at hello@dailycharcha.com. We will acknowledge your concern within 48 hours and aim to resolve it within 30 days.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as Charcha grows and as laws change. The date at the top of this page reflects the most recent version. For significant changes, we will notify waitlist members by email before they take effect.

If you have any questions about this policy or how we handle your information, please write to us at hello@dailycharcha.com.
